After checking in at the office, this is your first view of the 140-site campground across Lake Delanor. Only about nine sites are truly water-front, but quite a few offer nice lake views.

We selected Site #6, near the end of the lake. A small stream off to the left empties into the lake here. We had an open sky to the SW over the lake, so setting up our satellite dish for TV was a snap, and we were in Verizon's native digital area for high-speed internet access.

This shows a few sites starting with #94 at the extreme left. These seemed to be the most popular. All sites offer W/E (30A) hookups.

some of the sites up the hill from the lake. These are sites 85, 83,
and 81. |

There are 5 bathhouses scattered through the five camp loops. Three are quite new, and all are heated with hot showers and laundry facilities. There is also a nice playground for the kids. |

In the center
of the campground is small camp store. Although closed during our
visit, during the summer months it offers basic camping supplies. |

The park
offers 21 cottages for rent, most are along the lake shore. Some were
built by the CCC in the 1930's, while others are much newer. |

FDR influenced
the shape of the park's swimming pool - the Liberty Bell. The pool
is about a mile and a half from the CG. |

This is
the park office and HQ, where camper's register. Built by the CCC,
the stone building has been a restaurant, among other things, in it's
history. |

The park
is about 12 miles from the quaint little town of Warm Springs, where
FDR built the Little White House in 1932. There is also a new museum
here, with some very interesting FDR memorabilia. |

The park is located on Pine Mountain, which is a long ridge-line. About halfway to Warm Springs is Dowdells Knob, which was FDR's favorite spot for picnics. He had this grill built and dined on a cloth-covered table with real china.
