Gamble Rogers is located in Flagler Beach, north of Daytona Beach. The 34-site CG is located right on the beach. Most recent visit: Dec 2009

After a year's absence, we returned to Gamble Rogers for a week's stay in Dec of 2009, primarily to visit full-timing friend Susan.  Although we made our reservation last summer, the only available site was # 20, across the camp road from the water-front sites.  We still had a nice view of the water, however.  That's Susan's LD across from us on site 19.

Here we are on Site #1, looking out over the Atlantic.  This was our site for each of the four years we volunteered here.  What better way to spend two months each winter?

Looking south along the beach. The beach is not easy to walk on - the sand is soft.
Our CG Host site, #1. What a grand spot to spend two months every winter!
You can't get much closer to the ocean than this. In Dec 2007 there was considerable shore erosion thanks to strong on-sure winds and astronomically high tides. Only one of several dunes walk-overs has not been destroyed. The campsites shown are 15-23 (odd numbers).
Sites 25 through 34, at the south end of the campground are suitable for smaller rigs.
Site 17 is one of the more popular sites, with a wide-open view of the ocean just beyond.
Our first Christmas at Gamble Rogers was back in 2000, when we were still in our Shadow Cruiser truck camper.  We're enjoying the sun on one of the smaller sites at the end of the campground.
In 2005 the park opened this new, modern bathhouse. Hot showers, but no heat or air conditioning.
Beach erosion during a winter storm - 2005.
In just two years, about 12-15 feet of shoreline have been lost.

Many a morning brings a beautiful sunrise over the Atlantic
