Fort McAllister is a convenient stop for travelers up or down I-95. It's also not too far from downtown Savannah, although Skidaway Island SP is closer. The CG has 52 RV spaces and 12 tent-only sites. A major attraction of the park is Fort McAllister, well worth a visit. There are several miles of hiking trails, and kids have fun riding their bikes on the paved CG roads. Tel 912 727-2339 |

We love
the afternoon sun on Site #2. It's on e of the few more open sites,
and looks out over a broad marsh. |

The Spanish moss glistened like golden lace in the late afternoon sun. |

This
is very typical of the entire CG - all sites are well-shaded. Most
are pull-through sites and offer water and electric hook-ups. |

For
boaters, there is a boat launch and a dock where you can tie up your
boat during your stay. This would appear to be a great area for boating
and kayaking - lots of inlets and estuaries. |

For the
kids there's a nice playground, and there are two pavilions in the
CG, one screened-in. |

Modern
bath-houses are heated nd offer hot showers and laundry facilities. |

A few
sites are designed for tenters, with raised pads to keep you a little
drier in wet weather. These sites also have water and electricity. |
