Oak Grove FAMCAMP is located on NAS Pensacola, on the SW side of the facility near the National Naval Aviation Museum on Radford Blvd. There are 51 RV sites with full W/30/50A/S/TV. There are also 8 tent sites and 20 cabins that can be rented. Reservations: 850-452-2535 |

We called only a couple of days before our projected arrival and were fortunate to get a site for 4 nights. Here we are on #16. Date of visit: Feb 2007 |

As you pull into the CG, you'll find the office in the trailer at the right. The CG Host is located to the left (the site with the fiver). |

nice bathhouse with hot showers. The laundry is also in this building. |

In the
center of the main loop is the community room. It has a wood stove
in the middle, a TV, and tables for games or eating. Campers can swap
books and magazines. |

Beside
site 46 one finds the short path to the beach. |
 |
Typical
of the Gulf Coast is the brilliant white sand. |
 |
About
half a mile up the beach one finds the Pesnacola lighthouse. |
 |
Built
in 1824, the first Pensacola Lighthouse was the first on the Gulf
coast. 35 years later, this 171' tower replaced it. The lens was originally
rotated by a clockworks mechanism; it was electrified in 1939. Automated
in 1965, the light is still in use. It is said to be haunted. |

Just under a mile
from the CG is the National Museum of Naval Aviation. I highly recommend
spending at least half a day there. The museum features an IMAX theater,
with several different films shown throughout the day. We saw "The
Magic of Flight" - awesome!
