One is likely to see equine activity on the way to Bandy Creek.

No problem finding a site when we arrived on an April Sunday afternoon. Based on a forecast of severe weather for tomorrow, we decided to sign up for two nights. Here we are on site D-3.

There are three loops of sites with hookups, plus a fourth without hookups for tents and small RV's. Here are sites D-7 and D-8.

Sites D-13 - D-23 are located in a cul-de-sac.

Sites D-27 and D-25.

If you have young-uns, you might like site D-44, which is right beside a play area.

Sites C-30 and C-29.

There were a number of horse trailers in the campground, such as this one on Site C-23.

Sites C-20, C-19 and C-17.

Sites B-9, B-8 and B-7.

Sites B-12 and B-11.

Sites A-13 to A-49 are tent-only sites and do not have hookups. This is site A-13.

Placed in the tent area are bear-proof storage containers, such as this one beside site A-20.

There is a small loop at the beginning of the A area that accepts either tents or small RV's; no hookups are available. Site A-10 is in the foreground with A-8 in the right background.

Site A-2 is close to the swimming pool.

Bandy Creek is unusual among national parks in that it has a large swimming pool.

There are several modern bathhouses throughout the campground, including this one that is solar-heated. They are clean and provide free, hot showers.

As noted above, bears are prevalent in the area and proper precautions with foodstuffs are necessary.
