Chickasabogue County Park is located just north of Mobile off I-65. In addition to the campground, the park offers miles of all-terrain bike trails, a swimming beach and an 18-hole disc golf course.

We had called the day before our arrival and made an informal reservation - the gal took our name etc., and assigned a site, but did not require an deposit. Site 29 was our assigned site.

    Date of visit: Feb 2011

All sites are in the woods, with some a little more sunny that others. Setting up a satellite dish can be a challenge. This is the only double site, 30.

    chickasabogue04
There are a good number of pull-through sites; here are 31 and 33.

    chickasabogue07
Sites 15 and 14 are located near the entrance to the main camp loop.

    chickasabogue09
Along another road are 13 private pull-through sites. This Airstream is on site 4.

    Site 20.

From October through March, campers can remain on sites 14-38 for up to 6 months at a rate of $249.60 per month.

    chickasabogue20
Site 44 is in an area of tent and pop-up sites that do have water and electric hookups.

    chickasabogue06
There are three heated bathhouses spread through the campground and each offers free hot showers.

    chickasabogue05
A new laundry facility has been installed - washers are $1.25 a load and dryers $1.00.

    chickasabogue16
It's a short walk from the campground to the day-use picnic and swimming area. There are several covered pavilions and some play equipment for the kids.

    chickasabogue17
The sandy beach and swimming are is located on Chickasaw Creek. That's the I-65 bridge over the creek in the background, and yes, you can hear traffic noise in the campground.

    chickasabogue18
There's a dual-ramp boat launch near the beach. The ramp looked awfully steep to me.

SThe ninth hole on the 18-hole disc golf course. We saw notices for regional tournaments posted near the first tee.

    Overall Impression:

This is an OK place for a night or two stop, but it didn't strike us as much of a destination kind of place.
