Since we planned to arrive on the Friday before Easter, we had made a reservation, and based upon the site map and GoogleEarth, we had selected site 103. Only sites 84-105 in the Bear Loop are reservable.

    Date of visit: Apr 2010

After getting set up on our reserved site I took a walk around the rest of the campground, and discovered that there were a number of very nice first-come/first-served sites available along the water-front. We were able to move to site 53, another pull-through overlooking the lake.

The campground has a lot of double sites which would be great for two families. This is site 94.

    clecre05
Site 96 is a single site, and typical of sites back from the water.

    clecre06
    Site 88.

    clecre08
Sites 64 and 65; 65 is another double site.

    clecre09
Sites 49 and 47 are nice waterfront sites.

    clecre10
    Site 8.

    clecre11
Sites 14 and 12 are both double sites.

We thought site 20 was one of the nicest sites in the park, with a broad grassy area down in front and then the lake. 18 and 22 were just about as nice.

There are five of these bathhouses scattered through the campground. They're pretty basic, but are clean and offer free hot showers. A problem we noted is that the only dumpster for trash is located up the hill near the park entrance, a VERY long walk from the campground.

    clecre07
For boaters, there is a boat ramp near the campground.

The main swimming beach is located about a mile from the campground in the day-use area. In addition to the beach, one finds a large pavilion and numerous picnic tables.

There are some very interesting hikes to be found at Clear Creek. One of the trails follows the contours of the ravines along the lake. At the heads of some of the ravines are large rock overhangs and small waterfalls.
