Jackson County Park & Campground is located on Lake Guntersville on the north side of Scottsboro, AL. It is a large campground of over 200 sites, almost entirely seasonal, although there are about 15 sites for transients. Bass fishing is a major past-time here.

The office is located in the marina section of the park and isn't too easy to find. The staff was friendly; however, they take cash-only for payment and have no change on the premises. We ended up in a small area not part of the main campground on site 14. The dogwoods were almost in full bloom and we had a nice view of a small inlet of the lake.

This is the transient area at the entrance to the campground.

Sites 1-4 in the transient area. We were originally assigned to site 1, up the hill just past the trailer, but it was so tilted and had only a shared electric box with a 15A outlet for us, that we went back to the office and managed to get a level site.

There are some nice lake-front sites in the main part of the campground.

These nice sites were on a small peninsula.

The main campground is full of seasonal trailers. I found it very interesting that most of these seasonal sites do not have sewer hookups; folks have to use the big blue honey wagons.

There are several docks along the waterfront where campers can tie up their boats. There is also a large marina and boat launch area in the park.

Most of the campground is located on a hillside in a pine grove overlooking the lake.

This was the worst of the sites I noticed as we walked the campground.

There are two modern bathhouses, although both are quite a hike from the transient area. They appeared clean and have free showers.

Across the entrance road from the campground is a paved walking trail and in the distance you can see the large play area.

Just a short walk from the campground is the Jackson County Park Restaurant. It seems to be a popular gathering spot for breakfast. We thought we'd like to have dinner there, but apparently in the winter months, it's closed in the evening.
