Millers Ferry Campground is located on the Dannelly Reservoir, about 10 miles northwest of Camden, AL. It's a mecca for fishermen - nearly every RV here during our stay had a boat trailer parked alongside. All sites offer water and electric hookups; most sites are paved.

We're beginning to learn that March in AL can provide a challenge for camping - schools are on vacation, especially this fourth week of March. We were fortunate to get a site, number 16, on the river bank.

    Date of visit: Mar 2010

There are a number of small docks around the campground where campers can tie up their boats near their sites. This one was right behind our site.

For privacy and space, sites 12 and 11 can't be beat.

    Sites 10-7 are water-front sites.

On the "inland" side of the camp loop road are sites such as this, 43.

    Sites 64-65.

Nearer the park entrance, around a large grassy yet shaded field, are sites 31-29.

For sun and proximity to the river, you can't beat sites 26-32.

     milfer18
Sites 21-18 are nicely shaded water-front sites.

After our first two nights here, we found we needed to stay on through the weekend, since there were no sites available at our next planned stop. We had to move to site 39, which we liked better than where we had been. It's a lot more open here with sites further apart. It also had a nice wooden deck and we could still see the river down behind us. We also found better cell phone service out here in the open; on site 16, data reception was intolerably slow.

This is the newer of two bathhouses, providing hot showers and laundry facilities ($.75 per load). It was also heated. The other bathhouse is much older, but provides the same amenities.

A short walk from the campground is the beach and picnic area.

For all the fishermen, there's a boat ramp in the campground. While Dad is fishing, there are playgrounds for the kids, and the paved campground roads make for great bike riding.
