Before making the 15-mile trek north from Yuma, I called the office to ask if there were sites available; Diana told me to come on up. We arrived at noon and were soon settled on site 41.

    Date of visit: Mar 2008

This building contains the bathhouse, library, and laundry facilities (75 cents/load). More impressive is the building that houses the office; it also contains a computer room, large-screen TV room, game room, exercise equipment, and a general meeting room, where various functions are held.

Right across from the bathhouse is a car and RV wash.

Just about anywhere one goes, one finds some local item of interest. Here at Yuma APG, it's a display of the cab control car of a US Army Land train, developed in the early 1960's. It could haul a "train" of 10 cargo wagons about 400 miles at an average speed of 5 mph. The control cab also contained living quarters for a crew of 6.
