Fort Huachuca is located in Sierra Vista AZ, about 65 miles southeast of Tucson. There are two RV parks on post: the primary is Apache Flats, while Garden Canyon is used as an over-flow area. Please note that use is restricted to military personnel and their guests.

    Apache Flats: (520) 533-1335, Garden Canyon: (520) 533-7085

I called Apache Flats a few days before our expected arrival, but was unable to reserve a site. I was referred to Garden Canyon, which is run by the Sportsmens Club. It's a first-come, first-served facility with 23 sites. We arrived on Saturday afternoon of Easter weekend, and there were three empty sites. We chose 23, which was a tad more open than the others.

    Date of visit: Mar 2008

This is essentially the whole campground. Sites have W/E hookups. There is no dump station here, but patrons can use the dump station at the Apache Flats campground.

The campground is up on a rise overlooking the main post and the city of Sierra Vista.

Sites are generally small and quite close together.

Being beside the Sportsmens Club, it can get a little noisy. Off to one side is the paint ball field....

Fort Huachuca lies on the west side of Sierra Vista, up against the Huachuca Mountains.
