Palm Oasis Park is the FAMCAMP on-board NAF El Centro, in southern California just off I-8. It offers 82 full-hookup sites, plus an unlimited number of dry-camp spaces.

I had called the day prior to our expected arrival and was told there would be no problem getting a site. When we arrived, we were quickly checked in and assigned site 42.

    Date of visit: Mar 2008

Sites through the FAMCAMP are all quite similar. This is looking southward along the main CG road.

Site 34 and the distant mountains.

Most of the sites have a privacy hedge, a shade tree, and a patio with table. Here are sites 52-54.

Looking northward along the main CG road.

Behind the RV park lie acres of farmland, with huge piles of hay.

Here are the sites at the south end of the park.

At the south end of the loop is the lounge, shower and laundry facility.

Just across the road from the campground is this neat play area, complete with a replica of a Blue Angels jet to climb on.

Right across from the north end of the park is a two-stall, free car wash, large enough for RV's.

Near the park is the sports complex, with gym facilities, a large swimming pool and this water slide. There is a small commissary on base and a rather meagerly-stocked NEX.
