Warwick Conservation Area, ON

 Warwick Conservation Area is located in southern Ontario near the town of Warwick and about 24 miles east of the Sarnia-Port Huron border crossing. There are two campgrounds in the park, one on each side of the lake. Most of the sites are rented seasonally, but a few are kept available for short-term stays. This review deals only with the Lakeview Campground; we did not have time to check out the Woodlot Campground on the west side of the lake.

Date of visit: June 2017

We found ourselves to be the only short-timers when we arrived on a mid-June morning. The office was closed that day so we headed on in to the Lakeside Campground. There we found the park manager doing some landscaping work and he told us to pick any site we liked. We ended up paying him cash for our one-night stay. Here we are on site PV-6.

Our site was about halfway down along the right side of this parking area. Sites PV-1 to PV-12 are in this row.

Some more transient sites are located in the A area, sites 1-15.

Area D has 5 seasonal sites that theoretically look out at the lake, but the trees on the left obscure the view.

Six tent sites are located in Area C. This would be a nice private spot for a group of campers that wanted to be together.

The seasonal sites are back a ways from the lake and are laid out like mini-city blocks.

The bathhouse provided free hot showers and a laundry room.

Kids will have a great time in this large play area.

There is a large set of swings.

Canoes can be rented for use on the lake.

Although there is no beach on the lake, there is a large swimming pool.

There is even a mini-golf course.
