Eglin AFB, near Ft Walton Beach, is a bit unusual in that it has two campgrounds. Postl Point is the original, older campground, while Camp Robbins is fairly new and modern and is the more popular. We did not stay here, but did visit both facilities.

Our first stop was at the Postl Point facility, located on the shore of Choctawhatchee Bay. We parked on site 1 at the far end of the loop while we enjoyed our lunch.

Sites are fairly far apart and are pretty much all open, except for a few trees here and there. Postl Point is scheduled to have electric hook-ups upgraded to 50 amp service.

All 22 sites offer an unobstructed view of the bay.

The bathhouse is rather small, but is quite up-to-date, appeared very clean and offers free hot showers.

We then drove over to Camp Robbins, which is located near the BX/Commissary complex. The staff at the office was very friendly and answered all our questions, even trying to get us to stay.

It doesn't really matter what site you get at Camp Robbins - they are all pretty much the same. There's more shade here than at Postl Point, but yet plenty of sun as well. Most of the sites are pull-through, with the exception of sites 1-15, shown here, which are back-in sites.
