The park does not take reservations, but I had called the day before our arrival to check availability and learned there were two sites available that day. We got an early start the next morning, arriving at Fort Gordon about 1100. We first went to the Outdoor Recreation office where we found there were four sites open. We paid our camp fees and headed out to the campground. As luck would have it, one of the best sites was available right beside the lake, number 8.

Half the sites are on the lakefront side of the camp road, while the other half are just across the road with views of the lake. This is site 12, with the lake behind it.
 These are "inland" sites 13-15.
 Sites 11-9 are waterfront sites...
 ...as are sites 7-3...
 ...and sites 5-2.
Sites 21-24 are across the road from the lake.
The bathhouse is quite modern with showers and free laundry facilities.
This picture taken from across the lake gives you a good feel for the setting of the campground beside the lake. Several campers had canoes or kayaks.
Across the lake from the main campground is this large dispersed camping area. The only amenity here is a porta-potty.
