Deer Farm Campground is another of what I call "no-frills" campgrounds: a basic, clean campground with the necessities, but without the glitter of the RV resorts. Deer Farm is located about 3 miles north of Kingfield, ME.

One reason we enjoy traveling in September is that campgrounds are pretty quiet, and we don't have to mess with reservations. At Deer Farm, we had no problem getting a site; here we are on #8.

There are 47 sites at Deer Farm, all with W/E (30A) hookups. There's a dump station available.

Sites 1-31 are all quite level and suitale for RV's. Site's 32-47 are a little more tilted and better suited to pop-ups and tents. The exception is #43, which is a large pull-through site.

As you can see, the fall foliage was coming along well during our visit on 18 Sep.

From the architecture of the office, it looks as if the campground was once affiliated with KOA.

The fairly modern bathhouse was clean and offered free hot showers.

Deer Farm has three cabins that can be rented.

There's a small playground for the kids near the office.

For the young construction fans, there's a quite a fleet of Tonka Toys earth-moving equipment.

A short walk from the CG takes you to Tufts Pond. There's a nice swimming beach, complete with off-shore raft, and boats, canoes and kayaks can be rented.
