We were here the week before Labor Day and although there were a fair number of campers, there were still plenty of nice sites from which to choose, including some waterfront locations. As we began our tour of the East Loop of the campground, site 2 was one of the first sites we came across - large and quite private.
Site 9 is a very nice spot right on the lakeshore.
Site 24 is one of only seven sites in the East Loop that is on the lakeshore.
There are a number of sites along the campground loop that face the lake across the road and have a view. 28 is one of them.
Site 46 is a small site away from the lake and closer to the highway so it's a bit noisy.
Back down near the lake we find site 58 with its view of the lake.
Site 77 is another site with a nice view of the lake. There is also a rather small beach area in front of this site.
Site 87 is down at the far end of the campground loop.
There are a handful of pull-through sites - this is site 99.
There are four of these bathhouses scattered through the East Loop.
Looking across the lake from near site 77 we see the large sunny beach in the day-use area.
Moving over to the North Loop campground we'll start our tour with a look at site 103.
These sites are definitely the prime sites. This is site107.
How much better than this can it get? I could easily spend a week or two here on site 112 with a stack of books and a kayak.
Another nice lakeside site is 114.
Away from the lake, the sites are all pretty much the same - lots of pine trees and bits of sun, such as here on site 131.
Site 135, a pull-through, is in the foreground. The RV in the background is on site 151.
Site 149.
There are two of these small bathhouses in the North Loop. I was surprised to see they somehow had squeezed a shower into each side of the building.
The North Loop has a small beach and swimming area.
Here we are over in the day-use area at the beach. It's a bit of a hike from the campground area.
There is a gravel area on the west side of the lake suitable for launching kayaks, canoes and small boats.
