We had checked for site availability a few days before our planned arrival and saw that there were lots of empty sites, so we arrived with no reservation. No problem - we were put on site 42 facing the lake.

Campground sites are a bit scattered, with a few here and and a few there. Nearest to the park office are sites 1-9, which are merely back-in sites at the edge of a parking lot. These are called Class A sites - not sure why.

    jp coleman sp16
Another group of Class A sites includes sites 10-24. These are on a hillside looking down toward the lake.

    jp coleman sp18
Some of the sites are pretty unlevel, as evidenced by how much this RV has its rear wheels up off the ground on site 12.

My vote for one of the best sites would be site 20 - great view of the lake and with a large covered pavilion down by the lakeshore. In fact, we moved to this site the second day of our stay.

Sites 25-28 are four close-to-each other sites along the road going to the main campground.

    jp coleman sp13
Likewise are sites 29-34. 34 is used for a campground host site.

    jp coleman sp23
    Site 36

    jp coleman sp04
Sites 40, 42, 44, 46, 48 and 50 are in the main campground and face the water.

    jp coleman sp03
Waterfront sites such as these, sites 41, 43, 45, 47 and 49 are considered premium sites - $4 more and no senior discount.

    jp coleman sp22
I would also put site 49, on the left, on my Favorite Site list. Site 47 is to its right.
    jp coleman sp12
Sites 52-54 are inland sites, but they still have a view of the water.

    jp coleman sp06
Sites 56 and 57 are premium sites.

    jp coleman sp05
As are sites 58 and 59.

    jp coleman sp10
I wouldn't mind site 60 - it's up on a hill in what appears to be an older part of the campground. Great view of the lake!

    jp coleman sp09
    Sites 63 and 65.

    jp coleman sp08
    Sites 64 and 66.

    jp coleman sp07
Site 67. All the sites in the "60's" are on a hill and will require some leveling.

    jp coleman sp21
This view from up the hill shows the main campground and its proximity to the lake.

There are two bathhouses - this one in the main campground and a smaller one in the Class A loop. Both were very clean and provide free hot showers (a faucet was missing from the handicapped shower) in the larger bathhouse. Laundry facilities are available in the main campground as well.

    jp coleman sp15
A short distance from the main campground is a primitive tent area with 9 sites.

    jp coleman sp20
The park has 12 cottages that be rented.
