We were a bit surprised when we checked ReserveAmerica for availability here to learn that there were a good number of empty sites, so we decided not to bother with a reservation. We arrived in the early afternoon on a mid-March Monday and had no problems getting a site. We chose site 8 for its privacy. Despite all those trees in the background, I was able to set up our satellite TV dish.

Sites 1 and 3 are "partner" sites, great for friends or family who want to camp together. There are a number of similar sites throughout the campground.
Sites 6, 7 and 10. Site 10 is one of just three pull--through sites.
Sites 14 and 12.
Sites 15-19 are located in a cul-de-sac.
Site 22 is a fairly typical back-in site.
Sites 24 and 26.
Here are sites 29 and 27.
The empty site in front is 32; to the right are sites 34, 36 and 37.
Site 38 is a nice site at the end of the campground loop with a view of the beach area at the lake.
Sites 41 and 40 also overlook the lake.
Looking up the road we see sites 42-48.
The bathhouse for the "inland" loops provides free, hot showers. |
Let's go take a look at the Lakeside campground loop. These are considered premium sites and the Senior Discount does not apply to them. Here are sites 50, 52 and 54. Just behind them, out of sight, is site 55, which faces the lake, is quite private and in my view is the most desirable site in the park (yes, I know, I should have a picture of it)..
Sites 65-67 all back-up to the lakeshore.
Sites 69-71.
The bathhouse in this loop provides laundry facilities as well as free, hot showers. It's $1.50 for the washer and $2.00 for the dryer.
Near the beach is a wooded primitive tenting area.
The kids will enjoy hot summer days at the swimming beach.
There is a playground for the young'uns and a beach volleyball court.
Fishing is a popular pastime at Lake Lincoln. And yes, there are warning signs to be aware of the alligators.
