Mahlon-Dickerson Reservation is a "must" stop-over every fall and spring on our winter's trek to/from FL. The park is not too far off I-687 near Lake Hopatcong, NJ. A recent change has been the decision to close the park Dec through Mar. Although water at the sites is turned off during the cold season, hot showers are available. Elec hookups are 30 & 50 amp. There is a dump station.

Depending on when we leave home in the fall we sometimes find some foliage left. This stop on site 12 was in November of 2007.

We're comfortably ensconced on Site #12 in Nov '05. Obviously later in November with all the leaves gone.

All 10 sites in the upper loop are paved - some are more level than others. The electric post is located very conveniently, but water hookups for some sites are quite distant.

Sites are nicely spaced, and well-shaded in the summer months. Each is equipped with a picnic table and raised barbeque grill.

The bathhouse has our vote for the Best in America! There are individual heated shower rooms with glass-doored shower stalls and adjustable shower heads. Hooks, a bench, a mirror and those rubber honey-comb mats on the floor round out the accoutrements.
