Our destination for the day had been Delta Lake SP near Rome NY. But after driving through the park to pick a site, we decided to move on - Delta Lake's campground is located in deep dark woods. Thus we were quite relieved to find some nice sunny sites at Glimmerglass. Site 34 suited us just fine. In fact, it was so pleasant we signed up for an extra night.

Even sites that are more shaded have lots of grass and are quite pleasant, such as site 7.

Site 10 is a large shaded site, with a play area just behind it.

The bathhouse was very clean with hot showers - only one temperature, however, hot!

Located within the park is Hyde Hall, an English-style mansion built by George Clarke between 1817 and 1834. It is considered to be one of the finest surviving examples of Classical Revival architecture in America.

The broad veranda provides a delightful view looking down Otsego Lake.
