    Cherry Point MCAS, NC

     Cherry Point MCAS has a small FAMCAMP with 20 sites with full hook-ups. It is very conveniently located right beside the main exchange/commissary. It's always been full when we've stopped by on our way south in the fall, but the CG host has always found a spot for us. Nothing fancy, but it serves the purpose. No bath-house.

    Note: This facility has been closed and replaced by a new campground, Pelican Point RV Park

    It had been several years since we our last stop at Cherry Point. I had called about 10 days prior to our planned arrival to make a reservation. The ITT office takes calls, but refers them to the Campground Host who calls you back to confirm dates, requirements, etc. He told us we'd be on site 7. The day before our arrival he called again just to make sure we were still coming and that we knew how to get to the campground. Later in the afternoon of our arrival he stopped by our site to see if everything were OK. Great job, Jeff, many thanks!

    SThe campground is small, comprised of a single loop road with sites around the perimeter and in the center of the loop. This is the in-bound leg of the loop.

    The sites in the center of the loop are numbered as single sites, but they are all used as double sites. This enables them to squeeze in a few more campers; that policy has helped us out in the past when we arrived without a reservation but the host was able to put us on one of those sites.
