  • Windsor City Campground, NC

The town of Windsor, located in northeastern North Carolina, operates a small, no-frills campground just south of town on Old US-17. Nothing fancy here, but it is an inexpensive spot to stop for a night when traveling US-17 up or down the east coast.

It has been quite a few years since we last stayed here. We were driving by so we stopped by to see if anything had changed. Nothing had. There were a few more long-term RV's present, and only three of the eleven sites were vacant for over-nighters. In the foreground is site 4.

    Date of visit: Nov 2010

Sites 4 - 8 are along the south side of the camping loop. All sites have full hookups, including sewer.

Next to the campground is a boat ramp and outlet to the Cashie River.

Here is the old faded fee sign - I don't think rates have changed in the 10 years since we stayed here last.

Below the sign is a lock-box for self-payment.
