Bass Lake Recreation Area is located in Area A on the north side of Wright-Patterson Air Force Base near Dayton, OH. This is a typical military FAMCAMP arrangement with side-by-side sites fairly close together and there is little shade. The campground is well-maintained and provides a convenient place to stay when visiting the Air Force Museum. Use is restricted to military personnel.

    Date of visit: June 2017

We had called a few weeks before our planned arrival in mid-June and Camp Host Vickie quickly returned my call and assigned us to site 30. We were quite pleased to find that it was an end site so we had some space and a view on our starboard side.

The modern bathhouse is small, but is kept very clean. It offers free hot showers and laundry facilities.

This is why Bass Lake is so popular - its proximity to the National Museum of the United States Air Force. It is an immense facility with eight huge galleries providing a fascinating look at the history of aviation. It contains an absolutely amazing collection of aircraft and artifacts.
