We really gambled, for we arrived on a Saturday afternoon in late June, but were fortunate to find several empty sites. Sandy, the CG manager, met us cheerfully in the office and quickly had us registered. She assigned us to site 55 - the shade was welcome this warm summer day.

    Date of visit: Jun 2008

This shows sites 58-54. Sometimes you don't know what you'll find at a municipal campground, but Lake Mitchell is a cut above the average. Everything was neat and clean and there appeared to be no long-term inhabitants. We would definitely stop here again.

    lamitch06
As you can see, most sites are pretty shaded. Here are sites 28-17.

    lamitch07
    Sites 0 - 14 (No 13).

If you want waterview, then site 15 is it. It is really the only RV site from which you can see the lake.

    lamitch10
If you're tenting, there is a nice area called The Point near the lakeshore.

    lamitch11
Most sites are back-in, but there are a couple of pull-throughs, including site 53 shown here.

In the center of the CG is this modern, clean bathhouse.

    lamitch03
There's a nice playground for the kids...

    lamitch09
    ...and a beach for swimming.
