Junction City Park (sometimes referred to as Schreiner Park) in Junction, TX, is located on the banks of the Llano River on the east side of the town. It's a nice little park with lots of day-use facilities, including a swimming pool and ball field, but it does not offer much for camping other than a place to park along the river. It's a very short walk into town from the park, so a visitor could spend the afternoon exploring the town and then enjoy a nice dinner out before returning to one's RV.

This is an overall view of the park taken from the Highway 481 bridge over the Llano River. I'm sure it is a lot more attractive in the summer when the trees are green.

There are no defined sites in the traditional sense, just a number of places where you can park alongside a picnic table and a raised barbeque grill. The sites in these three pictures are across the road from the river.

One can also park alongside the river.

Probably the nicest spot for spending a night or two is at the north end of the park along the river, where there are a few more trees.

When we visited the park in February, the pool was closed for the summer, of course. Just beyond the pool are two ball fields where you just might happen to catch a game on a summer's evening.

We did not spend the night here, as we were just passing through town after a few days' stay at South Llano River State Park about 5 miles south of Junction.
