Not knowing what the campsite situation might be in early March, we had made a reservation about a week before our planned arrival. We were quite happy with our choice of site 73, which was nice and sunny.
Date of visit: Mar 2014

Site 71 is a long-pull-through with FHU's. It's only major problem is that it is rather unlevel, as are just about all the sites. No attempt was made to level sites when the campground was developed.
Site 72 is another pull-through with W/E. It's located fairly close to the bathhouse. It's also the most level site in the park.
 Sites70 and 69 are nicely-shaded back-in sites.
The best view of the lake is from sites 65,63 and 61.
Sites 62 and 64 are two of the FHU pull-throughs in the center of the campground loop.
Here's what the overall first impression is as one enters the campground.
The bathhouse is fairly new and consists of 4 individual bathrooms, each with a toilet, sink and free hot shower. Unfortunately, it is not heated, so it's best to plan your shower for a sunny day.
Down by the lake is a small beach and swimming area.
There is a large day-use area with lots of picnic tables and grills. The park has a few kayaks and canoes that can be rented in the summer.
Near the beach is a small bathhouse with changing facilities and showers.
Want to do a little fishing? This pier extends out into the water a ways and provides a place where one can while away the day dangling the hook in the water.
Bring your boat along - there's a dual-lane paved boat ramp and a few slips where you can tie up your boat.
North Shore Park is the northern terminus of a 4.6 mile bike and hike trail that runs around the west side of Lake Bastrop down to South Shore Park. I wish we had stayed another day so I could have ridden my bike down and back.
How quickly things can change! During our first night at North Shore we had several hours of freezing rain which coated the trees and the RV quite well. My anemometer was frozen stiff.
