The eastern loop, comprised of sites 1 through 61 is dedicated to first-come/first served campers. We decided on site 52, a water-front site.
Date of visit: Feb 2014

Sites 45 and 46 are probably among the best in the park, being closest to the water.
Sites 50 - 58.
The majority of sites here are out in the open sun, but there are also some nice shaded sites which must be very popular in the summer.
Sites 34-40.
Sites 21-24 on the left, 28-32 on the right.
Site 20 on the left, 25-27 to the right.
Sites 1-10 are in the upper part of the loop, with some large shade trees. Here are sites 9-11.
Sites 13 and 14, also under the trees.
Here is an overall view of the lower loop, which shows how open the area is.
Over in the western loop are the reservable sites, numbered 62-124. As in the eastern loop, the lower row is in the sun while the back row is under some large trees.
These are sites 88-101.
Sites 76-82 offer some shade.
Sites 68-71.
There are 10 tent sites, numbered 115 to 124, out on a small peninsula. These sites also have water and electric hookups.
On another little peninsula are 5 sites designed for large families or groups of friends. Each site has hookups for 3 RV's.
For those without a tent or RV, there are seven screened shelters. They are rather spartan, but do have electricity and sinks with running cold water. Users would have to provide their own cots or mattresses.
There are five modern bathhouses, each is clean and offers free hot showers. I use the term "hot" with reservations: in the bathhouse closest to our site, the water in the shower was hot to start, but quickly began to gradually cool down
For campers with boats there is a dual lane boat launch located between the two main campground loops.
