We pulled in on a Thursday of Spring Break week to find the Campground Full sign out. But it never hurts to ask, and sure enough, we were able to get a site through the weekend. We chose #32 of the 4 that were open.

    Date of visit: Mar 2007

All 40 RV sites are pull-throughs with W/E(30A)/S hookups and are all quite level. The empty site is #16.

The park has a pleasant feel to it, thanks to the combination of grass and trees - it's not a dark CG at all. I did need to get out a longer cable for the satellite dish, so as to reach to a hole through the trees.

The bathhouse is small but adequate. We have noticed in the Texas parks where we have stayed that privacy in the showers and changing areas is not a high priority. One has to dress and undress in full view of the main bathroom, so you might find a young kid staring at you as you dry off.

There is a separate loop for tenters, also with 40 sites. These sites have water spigots at each site. There are no raised tent pads, however, so in wet weather you might get a bit soggy.

A third loop offers 20 enclosed shelters with a picnic table inside. Campers need to provide mattresses or cots.

For hikers, there are 2-3 miles of hiking trails. It was soggy during our visit, so we did not get to check them out.

An interesting offering is an Orienteering course - actually two, one for beginners, the other more advanced.

This is a great spot to camp if you're a golfer. Adjacent to the campground is an 18-hole course.

I hate to say it, but his shot barely made it off the tee.

At the entrance to the park one finds some of the ubiquitous Texas blue bonnets.
