Branbury Lake SP, is in west-central Vermont, between Brandon and Middlebury. Situated on Lake Dunmore, the park is a great family destination in the summer. There are two campground loops: the more open loop, with 17 sites, is located near the waterfront; a more wooded camp loop (w/ 21 sites) is located across the road. There are also several lean-to's in that loop. No hookups, but there is a dump station. The park features several miles of hiking trails, including one to the Falls of Luna.

Here we are on Site #2. We were the only campers in the sunnier loop when we stopped here in Oct '05.

This shows more of the "open" loop. Some nice shade trees and plent of room to play. But...in a heavy rain, I can envision some muddy conditions.

The bath-houses are nothing fancy, but are clean and offer hot showers.

Over in the wooded loop, the sites are situated on a hillside, with lots of rocks for the kids to climb upon.

One of several lean-to's that campers without tents can rent.

Lake Dunmore is ringed by hills. The park features a nice beach at the south end of the lake, with a modern bath-house and concession stand.

There are kayaks and canoes available as rentals. Beyond the canoe rack you can see the beach. There is lots of grass there as well - a great place for frisbees, badminton, volleyball, or a little baseball.....or just lazin' in the sun.
