We had the North Loop all to ourselves when we stopped by Winhall Brook. Site #35 North struck our fancy - it was right on the riverbank where the two rivers meet.

    Date of visit: Oct 2005

The foliage was running a bit late, but it was still a beautiful sight along the West River.

Both camping loops feature modern bathhouses with hot showers.

A year earlier In 2004 we picked Site 36 South. The "babbling brook" is just beyond the trees.

We awoke to find the valley fogged in, but it quickly burned off.

There are miles of hiking trails in both directions along the West River. This section, heading north, follows the river along an old railroad bed.
