Weather InstrumentsBeing the WxToad (WeatherToad) I naturally had to have my trusty weather instruments with me. The bottom dial is my Maximum anemometer, while above it is a matching barometer. And right beside them is my NOAA Weather Radio. This is the outside part of the wind set - the speed cups and directional vane. They unscrew as one piece from the mast and are stored inside when traveling. The mast, using a marine railing clamp, quickly folds down and is held secure by a home-made bracket. A weather-proof multi-wire connector mounted in the rear vent cover provides a handy place to plug it in. |
When not in use, the vane and cups unscrew from the mast and are kept in this rack in the tall compartment on the driver's side.
