30 Jan 10: Someone recently asked me: "So what do you think? Is it possible that things will get only worse and worse?"

My reply: As long as Obama is president and we have Reid and Pelosi, things will get only worse. They are self-admitted progressives. What is the goal of progressives? To progess beyond the Constitution. To fundamentally change America. (How often have you heard that one?) Progressive say the masses are too stupid and don't know what's good for them. Obama is Woodrow Wilson, who said we need the educated elites to save us. Obama refers to his "progressive friends ( ie, Dems) and Republicans." Look at the people around Obama, such as Andy Stern, president of SEIU; Anita Dunn, who turns to Mao for inspiration; Van Jones, self-avowed communist, etc, etc, etc. That's why Obama is pushing so hard for government control of everything. And that's why he and the Dems want to extend so-called entitlements to more and more make them dependent upon government. We're at the point where the have-nots have discovered that with the aid of our corrupt politicians they can take away from the haves. Can you say Redistribution of Wealth?

29 Jan 10: I'm wondering what you saw and heard Wednesday as you watched the State of the Union speech? I saw a president totally out of touch with reality, a president whose arrogance and contempt for the Supreme Court, Congress and the people of this country. He does not "get it" at all. He said he and Dems must push through Obamacare, the public be damned. He insulted the Supreme Court in public by attacking its recent campaign spending decision (I didn't like it either). He railed about the big bank bonuses, but failed to include Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae with them - their execs are getting hefty bonuses. He flat-out lied about having no lobbyists in his administration - he has 30 or so! He showed his contempt for Congress by saying that since the Senate failed to pass his deficit commission proposal, he will establish one with an Executive Order. He talked about all the jobs the stimulus bill created - teachers, police and firemen. That's just great, but those are public jobs funded by the taxpayer, not long-lasting private jobs. We're going to double our exports in five years; hmmm, what do we make (and cheaper) that the rest of the world is going to flock to buy? Can't be that green energy stuff he's always talking about, for China builds solar panels and wind mills more cheaply that we can. Obama's address only convinced me more than ever that this guy is in waaay over his head.

28 Jan 10: Obama announced his plan for a $250 billion freeze on government spending over the next ten years. But only on certain discretionary spending. Let's look at the math: the projected budgets for the next ten years totals $42.8 trillion dollars. $250 billion amounts to .58% of the budget total - not exactly a major dent. And then you have to consider the build-up to this plan. For example, the EPA is one the agencies that would be affected......but this year's EPA budget saw a 35% increase over last year. So in the overall scheme of things, this is all eyewash, Obama's attempt to show us that he hears the message sent last week by the Scott Brown election in MA.

27 Jan 10: Despite the election last week of Scott Brown to the Senate, Obamacare may well live on, thanks to a truly nefarious plot being hatched by Obama, Reid and Pelosi. Sources have indicated that the three have met and tentatively agreed on a plan to get Obamacare into law. Under this plan, the House would agree to pass the Senate version in its entirety; in return the Senate would agree to make changes to the law AFTER Obama signs it. The Senate would treat the changes as “budgetary: and invoke reconciliation to pass them with a simple 51-vote majority. Bottom line: the voters be damned.

25 Jan 10: Our esteemed politicians in Washington have come with a new scheme for avoiding doing what we elected them to do. They’re now proposing to set up an 18-member deficit task force, that would come up with a plan to stem the spiraling upward budget deficit. Note the time frame proposed: the panel would meet for most of this year and report back to Congress AFTER the November elections. The lame-duck Congress would then vote it up or down BEFORE the new Congress convenes in 2011. Thus the current Congress won’t have to face the judgment of the voters just before the election, and the new Congress will get to avoid all blame for the outcome. Pretty clever, eh?

24 Jan 10: Reknowned meteorologist Dr. William Gray tells us that a new Climategate USA scandal is unfolding, as evidence emerges that data here in the states is being manipulated to show a continuing warming trend and eleminating data that shows a slight cooling trend. Yes, there was a warming trend from the 1970's to the turn of the century. But from 1999 onward, there has been virtually no warming trend. Dr. Gray has called claims of manmade global warming “the greatest scientific hoax of all time.”

But the question is, why? “They want to use this to push other hidden agendas they have,” Gray said. Environmentalists think that people will become more environmentally conscious if convinced the earth is warming. Socialists want to push for a leveling of living conditions around the world. (Can you say "redistribution of wealth?) There are governments who want more control over peoples' lives. And there are businessmen who see big dollar signs in energy trading (cap and trade).

Also, a few days earlier it was revealed that the UN's Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change's voluminous, Nobel-winning report contained several errors regarding Himalayan glaciers. The report stated that the glaciers would be melted by 2035; the actual estimated date is 2350. Oh...a transposition of digits. But that, along with several other errors, and the release of the Climategate emails a few months ago, certainly makes one question the wisdom of basing major governmental decisions on a faulty report and faulty data.

23 Jan 10: Presbo, when asked about his reaction to the election of Scott Brown in MA the other, said that it was the result of voters dissatisfaction with the ways things have been done in Washington for the past 8 years. Hmmm, so voters are unhappy with the Bush regime and therefore they elected a Republican. Yeah, that makes sense. C'mon, Presbo, you've been president for a year now - you own it! Quit blaming your predecessor for everything.

21 Jan 10: Gotta tell you, I'm sure enjoying the headlines the past two days:

Brown Victory Shows Democrats in Danger

Obama Support Plunges in Liberal California

Obama's First Year: Defeat, Disarray, Disillusionment

Obama Considers Pared-Back Healthcare Bill

Perhaps there's some hope after all !

20 Jan 10: Huzzah! Maybe there is some hope for this country after all. So great to see Scott Brown win the Senate seat in MA, the seat that the Democrats felt they owned. Once again Obama cursed the Democratic candidate by showing up; first New Jersey, then Virginia and now Massacusetts. Now we need to ensire the momentum continues in this November's mid-term elections. It's time to stop this liberal/progressive/socialist movement underway in Washington.

And to show that I'm fair-minded, I do watch the liberal media, such as MSNBC. It's so refreshing to hear their totally unbiased (yeah, right!!) commentary. Rachel Maddow last night had this to say about the Brown victory: "The people voted with a message, a message that is coherent and totally divorced from reality. Scott's campaigning was dishonest."

Hmm - So that's what a liberal thinks of the democratic process. I'm trying to figure out what was dishonest about it. He left no doubt where he stood on the big issues. I'd say Maddow, Keith Olbermann and Chris Matthews are the ones who don't recognize reality.

And gee, Presbo, do you really think it paid off to make fun of his pick-up truck? But I suppose that's to be expected from someone from the Socialist Republic of Chicago.

18 Jan 10: Democracy? Isn’t that the process by which citizens of the US vote for their elected officials? MSNBC’s Ed Schultz apparently doesn’t put much stock in that whole democracy thing - on his show last Friday, with regard to the Brown/Coakley race in Massachsuetts, he said "I tell you what, if I lived in Massachusetts I'd try to vote 10 times. I don't know if they'd let me or not, but I'd try to. Yeah, that's right. I'd cheat to keep these bastards out. I would. ’Cause that's exactly what they are."
Well, gee, Ed, I’d say you’re giving the American voters the finger. Who the heck do you think you are? Just think of the outrage from the liberal left if Rush Limbaugh or Glenn Beck had made a statement like that!

Ed apologized today.....saying that what he meant to say was that he would try to vote twenty times! Now I feel better.

18 Jan 10: So all eyes are on good ole Massachusetts tomorrow. Man, I hope Brown can pull this off! But I sure don't trust the Democratic machine. The MA Secretary of State, a Dem of course, says he won't be able to certify Brown for at least 10 days after the allow time for the absentee and military ballots to make it in. Yet a few years ago he certified Nikki Tsongas just 2 days after a special election for a US House seat. Of course, she was a Dem; that obviously makes a big difference.

16 Jan 10: Once again another back-room deal regarding health care reform. This time Democrats made a behind-closed-doors (transparency, anyone?) deal with big labor to exempt them from the proposed 40% tax on so-called Cadillac health plans until 2018. So you and I will be left picking up the estimated $60 billlion dollar value of that little scheme. Gee, isn't it interesting that that figure of $60 billion is on the low side of what big labor gave to the Obama campaign to help buy his election? SEIU alone is reported to have given that much. This whole health-care debate stinks like nothing else! I thought we were all equal in this once-great country, with everyone treated the same. Is this the change that Americans voted for?

And oh yeah, while talking about the Cadillac tax, please note that it is based on a flat figure that will not rise over the years. Thus, although you may not be subject to it at first, it's likely that in a few years you will be, as your premiums rise, thanks to inflation AND the need of the insurance companies to recoup the money they'll be losing by no longer being able to deny coverage for pre-existing conditions, etc,. Kinda sounds like the Alternative Minimum Tax, doesn't it? The threshhold stays the same so that each year more and more Americans are caught by it.

11 Jan 10: Well, as Walt Kelly said, "We have met the enemy...and it is us." The New York Metropolitan Museum of Art has decided to censor its own collection of Islamic art and no longer display any pieces of art that depict the prophet Mohammed. Conervative Muslims object to any displays of images of their holy founder. So once again our political correctness has put another noth in its belt as we kowtow to a few. If we keep up this approach, folks, the other side is going to win and we're doomed.

10 Jan 10: Sad news the other day: Art Clokey passed away. Art Clokey?? Art was the fellow who invented Gumby and Pokey, back in 1955. Gumby first appeared on the Howdy Doody show, and who can forget Eddie Murphy's SNL cigar-smoking primadonna portrayal of Gumby. Art also was the father of Davey and Goliath. Another icon gone.

6 Jan 10: Regarding the health care debate, Nancy Pelosi said this yersterday: "There has never been a more open process for any legislation in anyone who's served here's experience." And WH press boy Robert Gibbs had this to say: "I don't believe the American people have lacked for information on what's in these bills." This came after C-SPAN's Brian Lamb wrote to Congressional leaders reminding them of President Obama's pledge for complete openness and transparency during the health care debate, to include opening all discussions to C-SPAN's cameras. Nancy and Robert must live on a different planet than I do, for all I've seen or heard about are secret deals made in the White House with the pharmaceutical and hospital interests and deals made behind closed doors in Congress to buy votes from those who principles are so lacking that bribery is now the standard means of passing legislation. Where were the cameras during the dealing with Sen Ben Nelson that ended with a deal that you and I in the other 49 states will have to pay all of Nebraska's Medicaid costs....forever? Where was the transparency when the Dems closed the deal in Harry Reid's office, behind closed doors and no Republicans allowed? C'mon, folks, time to vote these bums out!

4 Jan 10: Remember Anita Dunn? She was President Obama's Communication Director until last month. She's the one who said that one of the two top people to whom she turned for inspiration was.....Chairman Mao! Yes, the guy responsible for the deaths of upwards of 70 million Chinese. Now it would appear that President and Mrs.Obama share that admiration: among the ornaments bedecking the White House Christmas tree was one with Chairman Mao's image on it. Am I the only one who thinks that may be just a tad inappropriate? Is it just more evidence of the leftist, Marxist leanings of our president?
