Musings of the WxToad

Trust me - The WxToad does NOT lean to the left!

October 2010

mrtoad balance

29 Oct 10: Once again we see how the left has absolutely no ability to refute conservative claims by citing facts; instead its spokespeople can only use vitriolic attacks. The View's Joyce Behar is typical. Last week she and Whoopi Goldberg could not sit and debate Bill O'Reilly with facts; their approach - get up and walk off the set. Then this week Behar attacks Nevada senate candidate Sharon Angle, calling her a bitch and saying she's going to hell. Gee, Joyce, is that the best you can do to refute Angle's statements? And shame on Barbara Walters for letting her get away with it.

27 Oct: Thanks to our gutless politicians Americans are going to see a hefty decrease in their pay checks after the New Year begins. All because the pols in DC refuse to buckle down and make up their minds about the expiring Bush tax cuts. No wonder the economy is not recovering very well - no one has a clue what is in store for them tax-wise. Washington has also failed to pass a budget for the current fiscal year. They should have to stay in town until one is passed. What the heck are we paying these guys and gals for anyway?

26 Oct 10: I heard a figure tossed out on TV the other day....that since 9/11 40,000 people have been murdered at the hands of terrorists around the globe. I wasn't able to confirm that figure, but I did find that just this year, 2010, there have been 226 attacks leaving 1028 dead bodies. Just in the past two days:

26 Oct 10 (Chewenkur, Nigeria) - Four teenagers and two women are hacked to death when Muslims armed with machetes attack a Christian village.

26 Oct 10 (Herat, Afghanistan) - Taliban blow up four local cops with an IED.

25 Oct 10 (Bajaur, Pakistan) - A member of a peace committee is assassinated by religious radicals.

25 Oct 10 (Baghdad, Iraq) - A electrical association worker is shot to death by Mujahideen.

25 Oct 10 (Punjab, Pakistan) - Three women are among seven innocents killed by Sunni bombers at a Sufi mosque.

25 Oct 10 (Narathwat, Thailand) - A farmer is murdered in one of a series of bombings by Islamic separatists.

All in the name of the Religion of Peace. Wow!

22 Oct 10: It's been quite a few years since I naively thought that NPR was a great unbiased source of information. Listening to Amy Goodman persuaded me that it is not. But this week I've really seen NPR's true colors when they summarily fired Juan Williams for comments he made about Muslims. In contrast, NPR correspondent Nina Tottenberg, a few years ago, said that if there was “retributive justice” in the world Jesse Helms would “get AIDS from a transfusion, or one of his grandchildren will get it.” Yet she still has her job! It's time to cut all public funding for NPR....and PBS, for that matter. I do not appreciate my tax dollars being used to support NPR's leftist leanings. And oh yes - isn't it interesting that William's firing came on the same day that George Soros gave NPR $1.8 million to hire reporters?!

21 Oct 10: I'm hoping you're familiar with George Soros. You know, the closest guy I can imagine to the role of the Man Who Smokes Cigarettes. You know, the guy with close ties to the Obama administration. You know, the guy who has "bought" most of the Secretaries of States of the individual states.....which of course helps insure that people like Al Franken get elected to the US Senate.

Now we learn that Soros has given $1.8 million dollars to NPR to hire reporters. And his Tides Foundation now provides the funding for the investigative arm of the Huffington Post. Gee, that will definitely ensure that we get some truly unbiased reporting, won't it?

7 Oct 10: I'm sure you know that the US government is suing Arizona over its new immigration law, passed with the intention of putting some local teeth behind federal laws which the government choose not to enforce. That's bad enough, but now the 9th Circuitl Court of Appeals has ruled that Mexico, Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Costa Rica, Ecuador, El Salvador, Nicaragua, Paraguay, Peru and Chile may submit friend-of-the-court briefs in the case. Which gives foreign governments a role in determining what clearly is strictly a US issue. Show me a case where some country has allowed the US to be a party to internal policy decisions.

6 Oct 10: Wow! Have you seen some of the ads being used by the global warming fear-mongers? Last week a climate-change propaganda group called 10:10 put out an ad featuring a class-room full of youngsters. At the end of the ad, two kids, who didn't embrace the global warming nonsense had their heads blown off, splattering their classmates with blood. But last year the group ACT-Responsible published a print ad featuring a young girl with arms bound behind her back standing on a precarious platform with a noose around her neck. What is wrong with these people that they have to stoop so low in their effort to convince us the End is near?

These are the same people who say the global warming skeptics should be charged with treason. They say meteorologists should not be accredited if they do not support the global warmiong scam. Gee whiz - what happened to free speech???
