31 Dec 12: Happy New Year, folks. Despite the long-term fiscal crisis we face, we have a possible Senate "deal" to prevent going over the so-called fiscal cliff that accomplishes nothing.  Tax hikes and no cuts in spending - we're just going to hand over more of our hard-earned money to these idiots in DC to squander. I fervently hope the House will not go along with this deal.  WHY do the Dems think we can just go on adding more and more to our already outrageous debt? I sure feel sorry for my grandchildren.

-------

29 Dec 12: I'm so mad I can hardly put my fingers to the keyboard. This fiscal cliff crap has only confirmed that we have 536 idiots running things in Washington: 435 congressmen, 100 senators and one president.  All are dolts, imbeciles, greedy, power hungry fools who don't give a damn about this country.  If ever there was a chance for a president to be a leader, this is is, but ours has failed miserably.

-------

24 Dec 12: Goodby, Hillary; hello, John Kerry at the State Department.  Poor John - he's going to have his hands full cleaning up the mess Hillary is leaving behind: she accomplished nothing in the Palestinian-Isreali issue, go nowhere with Iran's illegal nuclear weapons pursuit, she was out-manuevered and humiliated by North Korea's broken promises to abandon their nuclear goals, and had stood by watching the Arab Spring become the Islamic Awakening. Of course, this will be forgotten by her fawning, adoring press and fans when she runs for President in 4 years and becomes our first female president. Ah, what a delightful thought: Bill and Hillary back in the White House.

-------

22 Dec 12: Tax the rich, spend more, ignore the deficit.  Sounds like the perfect pathway to prosperity.  Yeah, right.....but that's the plan being espoused by our Dear Leader.

-------

17 Dec 12: The independent Advisory Review Board report on the Benghazi massacre was presented to the State Department today.  Secretary of State Hillary Clniton had said that she could not testify on the Benghazi incident until the report was completed.  Well, the report is complete. But gee whiz, now the Secretary can't testify this week because of a concussion she sustained last week after fainting. Maybe I'm overly suspicious, but.....

-------

15 Dec 12: What do $2.4 million for Border Patrol vehicles and X-ray machines, $150 million for Alaska fisheries, $125 million for coping with Colorado's summer wildfires, $4 million for repairs at the Kennedy Space Center and $41 million for repairs at 8 military bases have in common? They are among items included in a proposed $60.4 billion bill being considered in Washington to help communities hit by Superstorm Sandy. Here we sit on the edge of the so-called Fiscal Cliff, yet these idiots have the b---s to push to include these obviously non-Sandy related expenditures in the bill.  Shame on them!

-------

11 Dec 12: All right! Just hours after its passage, Michigan's Right-to-Work law was signed into law by Governor Rick Snyder, making it the 24th state to say that workers cannot be forced to join a union as a condition of employment.  I have long been opposed to closed shops, wondering how on earth it could possibly be constitutional to require a worker to join a private organization in order to get and hold a job. This law does NOT outlaw unions; it merely forces them to prove their relevance to workers and prospective members.

-------

10 Dec 12: Yet another invasion of privacy looms: President Obama has authorized the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) to mandate the installation of Event Data Recorders (EDR's) in all passenger cars and light trucks beginning in 2014. Supposedly this is for safety reasons, to help with the investigation of accidents and driving habits. Although the black boxes would be the property of the vehicle's owner, it wouild be a crime to disable or remove the EDR. Although not mentioned in the mandate, I'll bet another use of the EDR down the road (pardon the pun) will be to measure miles traveled, information which can be used to impose a gasoline tax based on miles driven.

Another privacy issue - this one at least is not government-mandated (yet): cable TV companies are developing set-top boxes that will monitor viewers with a camera and microphone.  This is supposedly so advertising can be specifically target to the audience.  You and your spouse have a little spat in the living room - presto, up pops an ad for marriage counseling.  Or perhaps you're cuddling on the sofa - hey, an ad for condoms!  What I can't figure out is who are the idiots that would ever agree to having one of these things in their home?

-------

7 Dec 12: Republicans must not bow to the outrageous demands of President Obama as the Fiscal Cliff looms. It is clear that Obama does not care in the least about the debt crisis we face - he wants yet more stimulus spending and I cannot believe that he had the nerve to say he wants unilateral, unrestricted authority to raise the debt limit with Congress having no say. In July last year, Obama said that the government could raise $1.2 trillion by closing loopholes and reducing/eliminating some deductions.  So why is he now absolutely dead-set against that approach now?  His only concern now is proving that he is King Obama and further destroying the GOP. With control of the House of Representatives, Republicans must stand together and oppose Obama's plans.  Otherwise the country is heading for a collapse that will make the Fiscal Cliff look like child's play. George Bush increased the debt by $3 trillion dollars in eight years; under Obama, the debt has increased by $5 trillion in only 4 years. In another 4 years under Obama, the debt will increase by at least another $5 trillion, if not more. When will this insanity stop?  The GOP must stop this with its control of the House.  Please, Speaker Boehner, do not cave!

-------

6 Dec 12: Our new senator-elect from Massachusetts, Elizabeth Warren, should fit right in when she gets to DC.  We've just learned that the supposed expert on finance and bankruptcy needs to raise some more money to pay off her debt left from the most expensive Senate campaign in history. "Do as I say, not as I do", I guess.

-------

5 Dec 12: The idiocy goes on in DC over the budget debacle. And now our Dear Leader has added to his demands that he be given free rein to increase the debt limit whenever he wants!  Talk about giving the liberal spenders a blank check!  But on the other hand, why do we even have a debt limit when it's not a limit at all.  Every time we get close to it, they just raise it - some limit.
