29 Apr 13: Libya: Uh-oh, seems like there's a big push in DC to get us more involved in the mess in Syria. Yes, the Bashar al-Assad regime is pretty nasty. But why is it the responsibility of the US to bring a halt to his killing? I thought that we had this international group of ALL countries called the United Nations that was supposed to get involved in situations like Syria. At most, the US and other western countries should introduce a measure calling for UN intervention in Syria. We can see that such a measure will get nowhere thanks to all those radical little countries that hate the US and make up the vast majority of UN membership. So be it. But at least we can then say that we tried to do something using the international community and failed. And besides, look at how well backing the rebels has worked out in other Arab countries - we've replaced regimes that were at least vaguely agreeable with us with radical Muslims that hate us. Now that's progress.

-------

28 Apr 13: Just another example of the wacky liberals on our west and east coasts: in California, the state assembly has voted to allow immigrants who are not yet US citizens to serve on juries. What happened to the concept of a jury of peers? I wouldn't exactly call a non-US citizen my peer. And then here in the Commonwealth of Taxachusetts, a Social Security number is not required to apply for and receive welfare benefits. Liberals have defeated any attempts to change that.

-------

27 Apr 13: Once again our Dear Leader has refused to acknowledge that radical Muslims are at war with the west, including the US. He almost immediately decided that the Boston Marathon bomber survivor will be tried in civil courts and not held as an enemy combatant. On top of that, the Department of Justice interrupted the FBI's questioning of the surviving brother, despite the "national security" exception to the Miranda ruling that allows for 48 hours of questioning before reading the suspect his rights. So the chance to learn more came to an abrupt, premature halt, thanks to our president.

-------

22 Apr 13: In light of the Boston Marathon bombing and revelations about the immigration issues involving the two brothers who placed the bombs, Republicans have called for a more thorough and transparent consideration of the immigration reform bill now being discussed in Washington. Democratic senator Chuck Schumer, though, has assailed Republicans, saying that he will not allow them to use the tragedy of the Boston bombing to advance their political agenda.  Wait a minute, Chuck - isn't that exactly what Democrats did after the Newtown school shootings?

-------

18 Apr 13: Just as he did following the tragic Newtown school shootings, President Obama today travels to Boston to help mourn those lost in the Boston Marathon bombing. Hmmm, I wonder if he'll call for a ban on pressure-cookers?

-------

16 Apr 13: So here we are the morning after the Boston Marathon bombing and the vitriolic language is blossoming from the liberals, juts as it did after the Congresswoman Giffords shooting. Leading the charge was that MSNBC stalwart Chris Mathews (does anyone really listen to this guy?) who said the bombing was an attack against Democrats. He based on this on the thought that a third bomb was supposedly discovered at the JFK Library (it turned out to be a non-related fire). Commentator Linda Ginsburg said "I'll bet good money it's a right-wing nut job." CNN's Peter Bergen commented "If it was more conventional explosives, which are much harder to get hold of now, that might be another kind of right-wing extremism." So why this rush to blame the right? Right-wing extremists tend to hate the government and would most likely direct their anger against government targets, not innocent people like those in Boston. Seems to me left-wing extremists like Occupy Wall Street and the anarchists who show up at all the big G-20 money talks are much more likely candidates....but at the top of the list are foreign terrorists. Say...where was Bill Ayers yesterday?

10 Apr 13: One of the big arguments for universal background checks for gun purchasers is that the process would weed out those with mental health problems. I fail to see how that would happen unless there is a MAJOR change in patient privacy laws. Even family members have a very hard time getting information about a patient, so how is this mental health information going to be gathered and compiled in one database where a background check can find it?

-------

6 Apr 13: Two weeks ago I mused about the Cyprus bank fiasco and whether we could face a similar situation. Since then I've found evidence that it is VERY likely that we will. The European Union, Canada and yes, our own USA are all drawing up "bail-in" plans to save "systemically important" banks the next time they get themselves into financial difficulty. What's a bail-in. you ask? A bail-in is simply confiscation of some portion of deposits in those banks. So in effect, the banks will have the legal authority to take money from your accounts to bail themselves out (in?) of their mess. Don't believe it? I urge you to read these articles:

     http://www.globalresearch.ca/the-confiscation-of-savings-in-canada-cyprus-style-bail-ins-proposed-by-ottawa-government/5329263

     http://www.globalresearch.ca/it-can-happen-here-the-bank-confiscation-scheme-for-us-and-uk-depositors/5328954

So the FDIC, whixch supposedly insures our deposits, has actually developed a plan to seize our money! Hmmm, I wonder if this is why liberals are so bent on gun control? They don't want us to be able to mount a revolution when they try this confiscation scheme.

-------

5 Apr 13: In 2011, deaths caused by guns in this country totaled 31,940. That same year, 34,367 Americans died in automobile accidents. So why aren't liberals as outraged over that as they are gun violence? They want to ban guns.....why aren't they pushing to ban cars also?

-------

4 Apr 13: The liberal's efforts to push for amnesty steam along, with the latest assist from the Associated Press (AP).  The AP has announced that it will no longer use the terms "illegal immigrants" and "illegal aliens" so as to avoid labeling them with a negative connotation. So what should we call immigrants who are here illegally? I like Jay Leno's definition: "Undocumented Democrats."

-------

3 Apr 13: Banning assault rifles, banning large ammo clips, requiring anger management courses, even universal background checks - all these and more being advocated by the gun-control crowd in their effort to take advantage of the Newtown CT school shooting. But I have yet to hear anyone explain how any of these actions will keep the "bad guys" from getting any weapon they want. All the "good guys" will obey the laws and become severely disadvantaged in their efforts to protect their families and properties. Look at drug laws - despite the illegality of most drugs, people seem to have no problem getting them if they want them. It'll be no different with guns.
