Trust me - The WxToad does NOT lean to the left!

May 2013

30 May 13: A few days ago Obama charged Attorney General Eric Holder with investigating the charges against the Department of Justice and its violations of the First Amendment in regard to the AP and James Rosen cases. Well, isn't that a sweet deal - Holder investigating Holder.

-------

24 May 13: "Responsible Corporate Officer Doctrine" - This is the standard used by the Department of Justice to prosecute business owners and corporate officers for crimes committed by their subordinates...even when the bosses had no knowledge of or involvement in the criminal conduct. Why shouldn't this same standard be applied to our government executives? The President is head of the Executive Branch; these latest scandals - Benghazi, the IRS, and the AP/FoxNews -were all carried out by people under his control. Thus he is responsible. Harry Truman said it: "The buck stops here", meaning the Oval Office.

-------

22 May 13: The IRS scandal - can you really believe that Obama first learned about this by watching CNN? His Chief of Staff and his Chief Counsel were aware of it....and they didn't tell the Boss? C'mon. Now the IRS official behind the highly improper scrutiny given conservative groups, Lois Lerner, has indicated she will plead the Fifth Amendment if called to testify. She ought to go to jail!

-------

21 May 13: Poor ole Jay Carney, Obama's press secretary, is getting good use out of his tap-dance shoes these days. Watching him at his daily press briefing is quite entertaining as the stories slowly shift. Benghazi, the IRS, the AP and most recently reporter James Rosen being labeled a criminal so Holder's thugs could secretly access his email. Is anyone beginning to to get a little disgusted with Obama's actions, lies and denials?

-------

14 May 13: Remember that great old Atari game Breakout? Man, I loved it - I'd play it for hours. So here's a little surprise from the folks at Google: type in a Google search for "atari breakout", then select an image search - wait a minute and presto.....there you are!  Have fun.

-------

13 May 13: Well, here ya go - does it get any more bizarre than this? Later this month Iran takes over as the President of the UN Conference on Disarmament.

-------

11 May 13: Here's the IRS Commissioner, Douglas Shulman, on 22 March 2012: There is "absolutely no targeting" of non-profit organinzations to investigate their status. Fast-forward to yesterday when the IRS apologized for doing exactly that! So here's the question: since it's a crime for a citizen to lie to the government, why should the government be able to to lie to the citizens with impunity? And where's the accountability for stuff like this? Why isn't Shulman, at the very least, fired?

-------

10 May 13: Yet again you and I, as taxpayers, have backed another loser in the green energy arena. This time it's to the tune of $50 million that was given to VPG, Vehicle Production Group, to build natural-gas powered vans for the handicapped. The operation recently shut down, laying off its 100 workers. Aoife McCarthy, a Department of Energy (DOE) spokeswoman, said that the DOE "was always intended to involve taking some risks for supporting innovative and cutting edge technologies that hadn't been tried on a commercial scale before." Hmmm, I still wonder, as I have after each the previous "green" failures, why on earth the federal government is in the business of funding dubious ventures with your and my money? But hey - the DOE did get back $5 million from VPG, so we lost only 90% of our investment.

-------

9 May 13: Benghazi - what's that? The liberal main-stream media (MSM) sure doesn't want the American public to learn much about the attack in Libya last fall that killed a US ambassador and three others. That bastion of truth, MSNBC, did not provide live coverage of a single minute of yesterday's testimony by three whistle-blowers. CNN aired 17 minutes of live coverage early in the afternoon, but then switched to inane speculation about the upcoming verdict in the Jodie Arias murder case. Who could possibly believe the Arias case is more important than the Benghazi scandal, a scandal of perhaps greater importance than the Iran-Contragate mess under President Reagan. On the other hand, Fox News covered the hearings live for 108 minutes. Maybe that explains why Fox News has much higher ratings than the MSM cable outlets combined.

One more note on Benghazi: at yesterday's hearings, Representative Elijah Cummings, D-MD) said that "death is part of life." I take that as his meaning that people die all the time - big deal. Which reminds me of Hillary's comment during her January congressional testimony: "Four people are dead. What difference does it make now?" Wow - it seems to me that liberals sure have little respect for human life.

-------

5 May 13: "Self-radicalization": What a stupid term, dreamed up by Obama and his adoring mainstream media in their continuing effort to deny that we're at war with radical Muslims, Al-Queda, the Taliban and many more.
