30 Apr 14: Ah, the Power of One! Isn't is amazing how one single person can call halt to something because he/she is offended? The latest example of this is at Dartmouth College, where, as part of Cinco de Mayo festivities, a sorority and a fraternity had planned to host a charity fund-raiser with a fiesta theme, complete with all sorts of Mexican food. But then one student, Ms. Daniela Hernandez complained that the event was culturally and racially offensive. Presto, it is immediately cancelled, with the college issuing a statement that "Events that mock and marginalize others certainly do not reflect our Principle of Community and do not reflect values of inclusion, respect and care for others." C',mon, Dartmouth, they were only going to serve chips and salsa. How is sipping a daiquiri or eating a burrito racially offensive?

17 Apr 14: Once again Obama appears ready to appease his union supporters....using $100 million of your money and mine. The plan is use a bunch of smoke and mirrors that will allow Obama, the state of Michigan and Detroit to wink at each other and agree to totally misuse federal funds to bolster the public employees' unions pension funds. Under the plan being discussed by federal and state officials, Michigan would give Detroit $100 million earmarked for the state from a U.S. Treasury Department fund established in 2010 to provide relief to struggling homeowners in the wake of the housing crisis. Detroit emergency manager Kevyn Orr would use the unspent funding earmarked for blight elimination to help reduce pension cuts for city employees. Why do you and I have to pay for the idiotic decisions of Detroit's officials? Why do liberals see the taxpayer as a piggy-bank to be stolen from over and over again? Read the story here.

7 Apr 14: So the liberal/gay Gestapo strikes again, pillorying a man for his personal views and costing him his job. Six years ago Brendan Eich donated $1000 to a group behind California's Proposition 8, which was against gay marriage. Eich is a smart dude - he created Javascript and he was among the founders of Mozilla, which has given us the Firefox web browser. But heaven forbid that 6 years ago he expressed his personal political/social views....which at the time were the same as a guy named Barack Obama. There is no evidence at all that Eich ever discriminated against gays in the Mozilla workplace, but a few days ago, after only a week after being named CEO of Mozilla, Eich was forced to resign. Are we heading to a place where one's political views can be used as job qualification? Should a conservative company owner be allowed to fire any liberals in his company? Or vice-versa? What a slippery slope and what a disgrace to the idea of free speech.

5 Apr 14: More lost money: the State Department cannot account for $6 billion dollars spent on contracting in Afghanistan. SIX BILLION!! Whose head will roll for that little bookkeeping error? Oh, that's right - it's Washington, where no one is accountable.

1 Apr 14: Ah yes, those great stewards of our tax dollars:

The State Department plans to spend $400,000 in taxpayer dollars to purchase a camel statue for the new American embassy in Islamabad, Pakistan.

The National Science Foundation has spent nearly $700,000 on a climate change-themed theatrical production.
