28 Oct 14: Well, Obama's State Department has come up with a wonderful idea: they are proposing to bring non-US citizens with ebola from Africa to the US for treatment. Never mind that it wouild violate US law which prohibits the admittance of non-citizens with infectious diseases. Never mind that it would cost over $500,000 per patient. Never mind that current CDC protocol has not been effective in keeping medical staff safe from infection. I have to shake my head in disbelief, but then again this is typical of today's Washington. What could possibly go wrong??

-------

27 Oct 14: I guress we've been given a preview of Obama's intentions regarding immigration. The Department of Homeland Security's Immigration and Customs Enforcement is about to let a contract for 34 million Green cards and work visas. Looks like the democrats will soon have millions of new voters who will join to vote for those candidates who think we're not entitled to the fruits of our labor, that it should be taken from us and given to those who have have absolutely nothing to earn it.

-------

25 Oct 14: The Conflict Kitchen is a street food verndor in Pittsburgh that sells Palestinian food wrapped in leaflets defending terrorism and oposing the existence of Israel. OK, they have a right to do that. But...it seems they receive funding from the Heinz Endowment, which is chaired by Teresa Heinz Kerry. I wouldn't have a problem with that either, except that she is the wife of our Secretary of State John Kerry. It would seem that considering John's high position, both Kerry's should do their best to avoid even the slightest hint of conflict of interest.

-------

20 Oct 14: A New York Times articles reports that White House aides say Obama is privately seething over the government's response to the ebola situation. Why is he seething only in private? How about a little public seething as well to show us that he might actually have feelings? And if he really is seething, why not do something about it, such as fire the obviously incompetent head of the CDC, Dr. Thomas Frieden?

-------

19 Oct 14: It sure is interesting to see the reaction to the Ebola situation and how totally ill-prepared our government is to deal with it. Every day brings a new contradiction. Dr. Tom Freiden, head of the CDC, has shown his ineptness. Back a couple of weeks ago when the first "index" case occurred, he was assuring us that that it was just a single, isolated incident and that he was very certain there would be no more. A week later we have two nurses who treated the index patient come down with the disease. The CDC even allowed one of them to travel on a airplane. Frieden also tried to blames the nurses for violating protocols only it turns out the protocols hadn't been taught to very many in the medical profession. THen there was the video a few days ago of the CDC inspector watching a hazmat-suited team load one of those two nurses on a plane - he's out there in his shirtsleeves with no protective gear whatsoever, not even a simple mask. There are only 4 centers in the entire country equipped to handle ebola patients, and each has only a handful of beds. We're scrambling to develop  a vaccine. We've known about ebola for 40 years - why only now are officials getting excited about it? Travel ban? - won't do any good. there are ways to get around it. Kinda reminds me of the HIV/aids hysteria some years ago.

-------

13 Oct 14: Democrats in Colorado have figured out how to steal elections: eliminate polling places, mailing every voter a ballot instead, and allowing people to register at  government office or online with no identification whatsoever required. It doesn't take much to create a "voter" and a "valid" ballot. Once submitted, that ballot is mixed in with all the others, so that if in the future that voter is found to be fraudulent, there is no way to retrieve his/her ballot. It's easy to imagine back rooms full of people and computers busy creating new voters. Here's the full story.

-------

12 Oct 14: First we had MSNBC blatherer Chris Mathews "tingle up my leg" comment after an Obama speech. Now we have Gwyneth Paltrow introducing the Dear One at a Hollywood fund-raiser at her home: "You're so handsome that I can't speak."

-------

10 Oct 14: The Department of Defense has shown us once again what a vigilant and careful steward of our tax dollars it is. This time it's the purchase of $486 million worth of Italian-built aircraft for the Afghan Air Force - twenty transport airplanes. The only problem is the planes turned out to be big turkeys - they didn't perform very well and lack of maintenance and spare parts kept them grounded. So how does the DOD end this debacle? By scrapping sixteen of the planes for 6 cents a pound, for a total of $32,000. Wow - what a return on investment. Way to go, Washington.

-------

10 Oct 14: Dateline Lincoln, Nebraska: Boys and girls are no longer boys and girls. That's what teachers in the Lincoln school system are being told, along with ways to get beyond that archaic terminology. Using guidelines from an organization called Gender Spectrum, teachers will be striving to make their classrooms "gender incclusive". It also includes advice aimed at curbing schoolyard bullying - kids should be told to say to the bully "Please respect my privacy." Boy, that'll stop the bullying in a heartbeat, won't it? (he added sarcastically)  More progressive crap!

-------

9 Oct 14: Nineteen year-old Mohammed Hamzah Khan was arrested a few days ago at O'Hare Airport in Chicago as he prepared to board a flight that would eventually end up in Turkey, where he planned to cross the border into Syria and join ISIS/ISIL. So it's a crime to plan to fight with the Islamic terrorists. So why isn't it a crime to have actually done that? The head of the FBI says the government knows who some of these  people are that have gone to the Middle East, connected with the terrrorists and have now returned to the US. If we know who they are, why aren't we arresting them upon their return and trying them for treason. If they are taking up arms against the US, then they are guilty of treason and should pay the ultimate price.

-------

8 Oct 14: Too bad most politicians and special interest groups have to resort to lies to make their case. This time I'm thinking of billionaire NYC mayor Michael Bloomberg and his Everytown organization, which is fighting for strict gun comtrol. As part of the attempt to sway the public, Everytown has claimed that there were 74 school shootings between December 2012 (the time of the Newtown, CT shooting) and June 2014. Politifacts has called that claim mostly false - the actual number is ten. And the media goes along with these falsehoods.

-------

1 Oct 14: Ebola - a new non-stop topic on the cable news channels. What an interesting story. We're told that absolutely every effort is being made to track down anyone who might have come in contact with foreign national who brought our first case of Ebola to the US. But yet officials will not not identify what airline he traveled on nor what cities he passed through on his way to visit family in Texas. It would seem quite logical to publicize as much about his travels as possible so that people could know whether they might have come into contact with him.

Dr Thomas Frieden, head of the CDC, says he is absolutely certain there will be no outbreak in this country. Hmmm, why should we believe him, a government official?

-------

1 Oct 14: If ever there was a Washington bureaucrat that needs to fired immediately, it's Julia Pierson, the Director of the Secret Service. On 19 Sept, a man jumped the White House fence and made his way well inside the building before being stopped. It appears that various protocols were not being followed by Secret Service agents. (As far as I'm concerned, they should have shot the guy as he ran across the lawn.) On Monday Ms. Pierson was called to testify in Congress about the incident. When she said she was responsible for reporting any security breaches to the President, she was asked how many times he had done that this year. Her reply was "only once. After the 19 Sept incident. Shortly after the hearing adjourned, the Washngton Examner and the Washington Post reported that a private security contractor with a gun shared an elevator with President Obama, in violation of protocol, during his trip to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in Atlanta two weeks ago. Why didn't Ms. Pierson mention that incident during her testimony? Had I been in charge, she would have been fired before sunset on 19 Sept. No questions asked. She's in charge....she's responsible....and should pay for her poor leadership. Oh, wait a minute....this is in Washington, where no one is accountable for anything.
