5 Weeks in FL - '00-'01 |

This was our first trek south to Florida for a few weeks. I was still working, so we were limited by my accrued vacation time. We loaded the trusty Shadow Cruiser truck camper onto the truck and off we went. We were fortunate in being able to tie our trip in with a business committment, so we got to stay an extra week. |
| This was our first Christmas celebrated in FL at Gamble Rogers SRA in Flagler Beach. We came back for several more and later we returned for several years as volunteer Campground Hosts. |  |

This trip was the start of a new tradition - New Years with long-time friends Linda & Dwayne, formerly from New England. This year we met at O'Leno State Park. |
| O'Leno SP has the Santa Fe River running through it. An interesting feature of the Santa Fe is that it disappears underground for several miles. This is what is called the river sink - where it goes underground. |  |

This was our first visit to St Joseph Peninsula State Park, and we fell in love with it. |
| The last week of our trip I had a 5-day business meeting at Hurlburt Field. Liz decided that she would rather stay at St Joe, so we unloaded the camper for her to stay in while I was gone. |  |
