Pennsylvania RR - Freight

June 14, 1966 - the Q and I visited Horseshoe Curve and Northumberland PA

#6309-6502-6034 are pushers on this freight.

Somehow I ended up with more pushers than head-end power that day. Here are #6518-6057-6312-6038.

Ah, here we go.... #7182-2355 have the lead on this train.

Leaving the Curve, we drove to Northumberland, where we found #8570 switching the yard. The crew even offered us a ride.

#9777 idles beside the roundhouse.

We were able to take look inside the house, and what a treasure of steam was there. Most of it was destined to wind up at the PA RR Museum.

Back beyond #8570 is a three unit consist with #9653-7267-8574.

You're right - this isn't PA. #8878 is doing some switching in Sunnyside Yard on Long Island.
