We have stayed at NAS Jacksonville several times. It's a small campground but with all the amenities and things close enough that we can walk to the Navy Exchange and Commissary. We ended up having to extend our stay here to about a month, thanks to a medical problem that cropped up. The staff was very accommodating in letting us stay on. Most of our stay was spent on site 45, a great spot at the end of the center row.
Most recent visit: January 2015

When we first arrived we were assigned site 46, with which we were quite happy since it was at the end of a row. However, it had a quite a drainage problem and when it rained the RV was sitting in a lake. After a few days we were able to move to a drier site, 45

On an earlier visit in 2009 the only available site was 13 in the older section of the park, where it's a lot more wooded and the sites are gravel with just water and electric hookups. It was a challenge setting up the satellite dish here.

This is the view as you enter the park via the Navy Lodge entrance. This is the newer section of the campground, sites 31-50. Although the road is gravel, each site has a cement pad and full hookups. Some of the pads are not too level, so some leveling of your rig may be necessary. Sites 38-31 are on the left; site 45 to the right.

This is the back row of the "new" part of the CG, sites 46-50 on the right, and 45-39 on the left.

 Sites 47-50.

Looking back towards the entrance with sites 39-45 to the left, sites 31-38 on the right. The sites on the left are all pull-throughs.

This is looking up the road in the older section toward the modern bathhouse. Sites 1-9 are on the right, 10-18 on the left.

Setting up a satellite dish in the old section can be interesting. I was lucky to be able to run a 75' cable through the trees to an open area behind site 50. Our site was back on the other side of the trees

If we had our choice of sites here, # 31 would be it - open, but with a couple of large trees for some shade. Site 9 in the older area is also a nice site - it's on the end nearest the river, with a nice view.

The sites on the left used to be dry-camping sites, but when the old section of the campground was renovated a year or two ago, hookups were added. Although still gravel, the road and sites were greatly improved and given more sun with the removal of some trees.

Here's the view of Sites 1-9 on the left, 10-18 on the right, after the recent renovations. It's a much more pleasant area now.

The bathhouse is centrally located and offers modern, clean hot showers and free laundry facilities.

A great place for observing wildlife is the Mulberry Cove Nature Trail.
The best part of the trail is this boardwalk spur ending at a large observation deck on the St Johns River.
Sitting atop a dead tree right beside the deck was this osprey. We later saw him heading inland with a fish, being pursued by a bald eagle eager to steal dinner from the osprey.
Nearby was a pair of great blue herons working on a new nest.
Another heron was standing right beside the boardwalk.
Just inside the Main Gate is an interesting display of Naval aircraft associated with NAS JAX over the years.
One afternoon we walked over to the marina.
A short walk from the RV park will take one to the golf course, where you can obviously enjoy a game of golf, or, if like me you have no desire whatsoever to chase that little ball all over the place, you can partake in an excellent meal at Mulligans Restaurant.
