In May of 2016 we arrived on the Monday before Memorial Day weekend and had a number of sites from which to choose. We decided on site 33 since it was a bit cool and the sun felt nice. |

We got lucky on our last visit to Lamoine in August of 2009 - we arrived on a Sunday afternoon about 2:30 and got the last site! That's the difference between Maine in the summer months versus September, which is when we usually go Down East. But for the last site, number 41, it was a fairly good one, large enough and fairly level. The shoreline is just down around the corner to the right of the rig.

When we were here in September 2007, we had no problem finding a great site. We chose site 58 for its fantastic view of the water to the west. A great spot to watch the sun set. This was a great site, but it has quite a slope sideways and took a fair amount of leveling. The campground is designed generally for tenters and small RV's.

This is site 52, a nice mix of sun and shade. There are no hookups here, but there is a dump station.
If you really enjoy the sun, sites 30 and 32 are quite open.
Site 23 is one of the more typical shaded sites.
Here are sites 41 and 42. You can see the water down through the trees.
Site 62 is fairly close to the water.

Near the center of the campground is modern, clean bathhouse with free hot showers.
We walked the one-mile Loop Trail, which meanders through the woods down to the shoreline.
Now here's a nice touch: campers can order lobsters through the CG office in the morning, and they'll be delivered to your site that afternoon. The office will even loan you a large pot for boiling them.

We were a tad early, but fall colors were starting to appear during our 2007 trip.
What a great sunset! Shortly thereafter we could see the headlights of cars coming down Cadillac Mt.

I've always been a sucker for sunsets.
