It was raining heavily when we arrived at Service Park, so we didn't check out sites first. The gate attendant suggested site 2, which backs up to the river. It turned out to be a good choice - good satellite TV reception. Date of visit: Mar 2012 |
You gotta give me an "A" for dedication - in the pouring rain I went out with the camera under an umbrella to take a few pictures for this review. This picture shows sites 3-8, all pull-through sites parallel to the river. |
Across the camp road from the river are some newer sites, all back-ins. Obviously, this is site 32. |
This is site 11 along the river bank. |
The table and fire-ring area for site 11 shows how close to the river sites are. In fact, with all the rain, we're hoping we don't get a knock on the door in the middle of the night telling us we need to evacuate. |
Site 13 is a little more open. |
Site 17 is on the left (the occupied site), while sites 15-16 are on the right. |
Sites 15 and 16 are tent-only sites along the river. |
Sites 29-31 are typical of the back-in sites. |
The small bathhouse was clean, offers free hot showers and has a small laundry room with a washer and dryer - a dollar each. |
A boat ramp is located in the day-use area, along with a play area for the kids and shaded picnic tables. |
