    Ottawa Metro Park

    Ottawa Metro Park Campground is located on the northeast side of Lima, OH. This is truly a gem of a park, very well managed and maintained. Thirty sites are all paved and level, the bathhouse was spotless with free hot showers. It was such a pleasant spot that we extended our one-night stay to three nights.

    We arrived on the Thursday after Labor Day - no problem getting a site. Here we are on site 6.

    Sites 11-23 (odd numbers). These are all long pull-through sites.

    Sites 12-22 (even numbers), with the bathhouse in the background. Water is shared between pairs of sites and you'll probably need an extra length of hose.

    This is one of the nicest bathhouses one will encounter anywhere. It was absolutely spotless and offers free hot showers.

    There is a 1 3/4 mile hike/bike path around the park and campground. It connects to the Rotary Riverwalk, a 13-mile paved walkway down through the city of Lima.

    There's a boat launch near the campground.

    There's also a fishing dock for those without a boat.

    A large play area is a short walk from the campground.

    The beach also is not too far.

    Closed for the season, on the Saturday after Labor Day, it was the site of an annual Dogs on the Beach event. I sure hope they rake it well afterwards.
